Who we are

Imagine a world where your birthplace doesn’t limit your dreams. 🌍 That’s what Passage is here to create. We aren’t just a bridge of financial support; we connect families all around the world to life-changing opportunities. We believe in a future where deserving students can pursue their dreams & ambitions—even if their parents don’t have money.

Our mission is bold but simple: by 2030, we aim to dismantle the barriers preventing brilliant minds from accessing the opportunities they deserve. Starting with financial barriers, we’re offering loans to international students and refugees, helping them pursue better education in Canada and unlock a world of possibilities—not just for themselves, but for their families and future generations, too.

Admin: It’s important to note that we maintain an in-office working policy, and we require candidates to either reside in Toronto or be open to relocating to the area and committing to a five-day-a-week in-office schedule.

Who you are

We’re looking for a driven, results-focused, and proactive Career Counsellor to join our mission-driven team at Passage. In this role, you’ll support international students and graduates in navigating the Canadian job market — from building strong resumes and interview skills to making direct connections with employers.

You’ll provide personalized coaching, run job readiness sessions, and actively reach out to employers to unlock real opportunities for the talent we serve. You’re someone who thrives on seeing others succeed — and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to make it happen.

Whether your background is in career counselling, coaching, workforce development, or staffing, you’ve helped people land meaningful jobs — and now you’re ready to do it at scale, for a community of driven talent working hard to build their future in Canada. These placements will include both part-time and full-time job opportunities.

What you will do

Career Coaching

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups through their job search journey — helping them build resumes, improve LinkedIn profiles, and prepare for interviews.

  • Tailor your coaching to each individual’s strengths, goals, and challenges.

Employer Outreach & Job Placement

  • Proactively reach out to employers, recruiters, and hiring managers to pitch our talent and uncover job opportunities — especially in entry-level sectors and high-demand sectors like healthcare and trades.

  • Support students through the full application and interview process, ensuring they’re well-prepared and confident.

  • Assist in securing both part-time and full-time job placements.

Candidate Advocacy

  • Serve as a trusted advocate for our students — helping them stand out to employers through customized application materials, referrals, and personalized introductions.

Job Readiness Programming

  • Develop and deliver engaging workshops, mock interviews, and career readiness sessions.

  • Help students build confidence, workplace communication skills, and an understanding of employer expectations.

Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, employer engagement, and job placement outcomes.

  • Collaborate with the team to track impact and share insights.

Qualifications

  • Experience in career counselling, coaching, staffing, employment services, or workforce development

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you can build trust and motivate others

  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • A strong commitment to helping our talent succeed in their careers and thrive in the Canadian job market

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working with international students or new Canadians

  • Understanding of the Canadian hiring landscape, especially in entry-level sectors and high-demand sectors like healthcare and trades

  • A network of employer contacts or experience doing employer outreach for placements

Ready to join us?

We’re on a mission to make the world a fairer place, one student at a time. If you’re excited to work hard, innovate fearlessly, and collaborate with a high-energy team striving for global impact, we’d love to meet you.

Note: This role is based in Toronto, and requires a five-day-a-week in-office commitment. Applicants must be willing to relocate if they’re not already in the area.

Let’s help shape a future where every dream can thrive—no matter where it’s born.
