Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary–a multi award-winning LinkedIn Top Startup company–is seeking a Web Services Software Engineer focused on UI/UX development. Reporting to the Web Services Team Lead, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the design, architecture, and implementation of our platform and machine learning systems that power our general-purpose robots.
The best candidates for this role are eager to learn and develop UI/UX technical skills utilizing React, open-source JavaScript library while gaining industry experience. Ultimately, you'll be a valued part of the team as you learn and adapt to new, complex development environments and own solutions from design to deployment by expanding web services to support our web-based UI/UX for robot monitoring and control.

- Bring hands-on experience working with high-performing teams on academic group projects and/or internships
- Gain cutting-edge career experience working with team members to gather requirements and develop a backend to support UI and UX designs
- Expand your career capabilities as you refine, build, deploy, and monitor our solution, ensuring that services and UI work together as a coherent unit
- Achieve company-wide visibility as you design, and develop reusable components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS, or other browser-based technologies
- Pursuing or completing a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, testing, and operations
- Ability to design, implement, and test in a fast-paced environment
- Competency in writing software in languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C++ or similar
- Familiarity with REST, MQTT, or other standard web service standards
- Understanding of fundamentals of computer science, compilers and operating systems, data structures, and networking
- Above all else, a consistently positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to create robust solutions to complex problems
- Optimistic listening and conflict resolution capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence others without authority
- Eager to take on new challenges with tenacity and positivity
- Patience, persistence, and attention to detail when resolving performance issues
